Spread the word – surfactant opportunity awaits.

Definitely fiction, says Clinton Prince, upper North Island territory manager for Grosafe Chemicals.
And when it comes to the company’s EcoSpread and BioSpread products, which he says are very high quality BioGro certified organo-silicone super spreaders, it is the Bio-Gro Certification that sets them apart from other products on the market.

That means untapped opportunity for distributors and end users.

“There is a misconception by many growers that certified organic options are limited in this category. We’re proud to lay this idea to rest.”

EcoSpread organo-silicone super spreader is suitable for low volume applications of compatible herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, growth regulators and foliar fertilisers.

BioSpread organo-silicone super spreader is a biodegradable and bio compatible product for excellent adhesion and retention, and also works to enhance the stability and performance of biological and microbial products.

These two BioGro certified super spreaders were launched by Grosafe to fill what Prince says was an obvious gap in the existing market.

“We pride ourselves in the success of our product development, with EcoSpread and BioSpread being great examples of that principle in action. They deliver benefits that were once reserved only for conventional growers and as a result are now used extensively in both conventional and organic production systems.”

The performance attributes of both products are clear-cut.

“This class of chemicals provides the only agricultural adjuvants that can produce superspreading, or the rapid coverage of hydrophobic surfaces at concentrations of 0.1 percent or less by dramatically lowering the surface tension of water, with a host of associated benefits in terms of product use efficiency.”

Key among these benefits are up to 30 percent reduction in spray volume; one hour rainfastness and the confidence of knowing the crop protection or fertiliser active ingredient being applied will work even under difficult conditions, because both products allow a larger amount of active to enter the plant.

At recommended rates crop safety and selectivity are excellent and it is compatible with a diverse range of inputs.

So what are the typical situations where it can make a big difference?

Good examples are under hot and dry conditions; when target weed species are mature and hardened; after a cold period when the cuticle is thicker; when plants have limited surface area; and when complete coverage is necessary.
