Lonza NZ brand changes to Arxada NZ

Published on 23/11/2021

This follows the sale of the LSI global business to Bain Capital and Cinven earlier in2021.

The New Zealand-based crop protection business became Arxada on 21 October,2021.

“This is an exciting new chapter for the Arxada crop protection business,” says Jason Gosney, regional director of Oceania.

Using the LSI business as a foundation, the owners of Arxada are looking to grow the business into a leading global player in the chemicals market.

“The Arxada brand signals a new strategy as a standalone business while also continuing to maintain our values and dedication to the New Zealand agriculture and horticulture markets.”

The new name is derived from Arx, the Latin word for citadel, signifying a stronghold.

“This relates to our protection products strengthening the performance of our customers through solution-focussed products, which fits nicely with our heritage and values,” Gosney adds.

“Locally, we will continue to be, and operate, as we have through our 33 year history in NZ.”

With an established portfolio of products and a strong history of investment into research and development, the NZ crop protection business is in a good position to continue its path forward developing solution-based chemistry for growers both in NZ and abroad.

“We will continue to invest in developing products that solve problems for growers, stay connected with our markets and challenge ourselves to develop products that fit our customers’ needs,” says Gosney.

“From 21 October, you would have started to see the changes coming through containing the new branding and feel. This process will continue over time as we move away from the Lonza brand.”
