FMC expanding presence in NZ agriculture

Published on 12/12/2018

FMC is one of the largest chemical companies globally and recently the decision was made for FMC to represent these products directly in the NZ market.

Products include Hammer Force, Magister CS, Authority and Shark which are all part of the new FMC herbicide offerings.

Fungicides in the range include Octave, Rovral and Sportak as well as Talstar 80C insecticide.

FMC NZ commercial manager Mark Christie says the expansion of the NZ offering complements existing lines.

“We currently have the premiere insecticide range which includes Exirel, Benevia, Altacor Avaunt, Coragen and Steward eVo,” he says. “In the herbicide range there is Granstar, Harmony, Glean and Telar.”

These were acquired from DuPont Crop Protection in 2017 and the collection has been enhanced by the new products coming on board.

“The combination of existing and new products in the FMC range provides quality options for fungicides, insecticides and herbicides in a majority of NZ agricultural enterprises,” Mark Christie says.

FMC staff are available in both the North and South Islands to offer advice and sales support and are heavily focused on farmers utilising agricultural chemicals in a sustainable way.

One of FMC’s goals is to reduce environmental impacts through its activities and as well as its offerings.

Christie says the expansion in NZ will provide great opportunities in the future to launch new products.

“FMC is an agricultural leader with a broad product portfolio, a deep and diverse pipeline and is dedicated to innovative research and development.

“We are committed to driving innovation, enabling growers to increase quality and yield from every hectare.

“This is an exciting time for FMC and we look forward to working with our customers closely now and into the future.”
