Kenso NZ is a newly formed subsidiary of Kenso Corporation which has built a strong reputation as a manufacturer and marketer of quality crop protection products for farmers, growers and foresters throughout Asia and in Australia.
Andrew Fulford, who will manage the business, has a long history in NZ agriculture and horticulture. He was raised on farms and orchards in the Hawkes Bay region, where he continues to be based.
His extensive experience in rural merchandising and agro chemical sales management will be put to good use introducing Kenso crop protection products to the NZ marketplace, the company says.
Traditionally strong in herbicides for cropping land, pasture and brush control, it is building an expanding portfolio of specialty horticultural products, including fungicides, which will also suit the NZ market.
Already eight products have been approved for marketing through traditional merchandise networks with applications pending for a further 12.
This distribution model ensures farmers and growers have local field support and logistics, Kenso says.
In Australia, Kenso has been active for over a decade with 100 product lines registered and that number is still growing.
Kenso Corporation has a long history in the manufacture and development of agricultural chemicals dating back to its origins in Malaysia in 1974.
It says it has built an outstanding track record for the quality of its formulations using proven active ingredients and high quality additives which offer great performance and value for money.
“The company is also known for innovative packaging with a focus on granular technology which offers transport and storage savings and enhanced operator safety.”
Kenso now has operations in six countries and exports to numerous others with its main formulation facility at Port Klang having a capacity of about 30 million litres and a focus on ghyphosates, paraquat, glufinosate and phenoxies.
A manufacturing plant in the Yangzi Valley in China makes competitively priced crop protection products to exacting quality standards.
