Mastering spring spray out and paddock preparation

Published on 29/08/2014

With its patented formulation containing 540g/L glyphosate, plus Nufarm’s unique Twin Salt technology and an exclusive blended
in can surfactant, the new product is tailor made for superior spring spray out.

That’s according to Nufarm marketing manager Nicola Smith, who says it hasn’t taken long for farmers to latch onto the company’s  latest glyphosate innovation.

Weedmaster TS540 was launched this time last year, and has quickly become the go-to glyphosate for anyone looking for fast, powerful results in New Zealand conditions.

Because the new formulation combines both the potassium and isopropylamine salts, it provides excellent efficacy and consistent results in the field. It is designed to beat the plant's natural defence system with fast uptake and translocation.

That means a lethal dose can be delivered to the stem and root system before the plant has time to fight back, even under the most challenging of growing conditions.

Nicola Smith says the result is complete control of target species.
Just as importantly, Smith says, those who have started using it have also been impressed by farmer-friendly packaging and
the knowledge that WeedMaster TS540 is backed by one of the most experienced teams in the business.

“Nufarm’s long involvement with glyphosate formulation and supply means farmers know there’s plenty of support and service
behind the brand and that makes a big difference these days,” says marketing manager Nicola Smith.

Helping WeedMaster TS540 achieve good performance is an exclusive blended in can surfactant which has been specifically designed for Nufarm's high load multi salt glyphosate technology.

Known as Activate™, this surfactant accelerates herbicide uptake through the waxy leaf cuticle to get the active ingredient into
the sap transport system more rapidly.

That's good news for anyone spraying out in changeable spring weather conditions, Smith says.

WeedMaster TS540 when tank mixed with Pulse Penetrant should deliver commercially acceptable weed control even if rain occurs just 20 minutes after application.

If it fails, Nufarm will replace 100 per cent of the initial use rate of WeedMaster TS540 for re-treatment when used in accordance to the label recommendations.

Other benefits of the high strength formulation include less time spent filling up tanks and mixing for application, and less product
and packaging to transport, store and dispose of.

Easy pour and easy mixing characteristics further speed up turnaround time. It remains effective for five days after mixing in the tank (remember to add more Pulse), resulting in more flexibility and less wastage, and has excellent low temperature storage
ability.

The new brand has an extensive range of labeled use situations, including the ability to graze, cultivate or drill 24 hours after treatment for annual weeds, and three days for perennial weeds.

It can also be used for spraying of silage before cutting.
